Youtuber SaninPlay has an interview with a former Rockstar developer, who has shared insights on why “GTA 6” might disappoint players upon its release. The developer highlighted several potential issues, including the high expectations set by fans, which could be difficult to meet. Additionally, the complexity and scale of the game could lead to technical challenges and bugs at launch. The developer also mentioned that the evolving gaming landscape and player preferences might not align perfectly with what “GTA 6” offers, leading to mixed reactions from the community.

There has been a problem of hype killing games with unrealistic expectations on launch recently with Redfall and Starfield notable Xbox examples. Now granted these games launched with some bugs and in the case of Redfall an entirely lacklustre offering, but the point remains that games announced years in advance, with nothing but flashy CG trailers and some snippets of information are wide open to hype and inflated expectations by fans and social media grifters alike. Starfield in particular is a solid game but the “game of a generation” it is not. Will the same fate befall GTA VI? Only time will tell.
